As a labour, employment and human-rights lawyer in Richmond Hill, Naheed is an active volunteer in our community.
She is a member of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and of the Business Women’s Network of York Region. Naheed is a founding board member of a nationwide organization of lawyers who provide pro bono services to Canadians seeking to welcome refugees to Canada. She also provides volunteer legal services to a non-profit, low-income housing corporation in Richmond Hill.
Naheed is a champion of public education. Recently, she stepped up to help improve the York Region District School Board as elected Chair of the Equity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee. This committee is responsible for promoting diversity and inclusion within our schools—the same schools Naheed once attended.
Naheed graduated from McMaster University and earned her law degree at Queen’s University, where she was student-body president and earned the Tricolour Award, the highest non-academic award at the University. Having grown up in Oak Ridges, she is excited to represent local voices and local issues as your next Member of Provincial Parliament.
